Open Question: Troubleshhoting Network Problems!!! High priority, which ones to solve first?

Your pal Joseph, who works as a network technician for a global long-distance firm with 300 networked locations along the Eastern seaboard, calls you for help. Usually, five other technicians are on duty to help him handle technical problems. Today, two of his coworkers are out sick, one is away on jury duty, and another has not shown up yet. That leaves Joseph and one other technician to solve every the problems that have occurred on this particular morning, including the following: A WAN is down between the Washington and New York locations, causing traffic to be rerouted from Washington to Boston, then to New York. As a result, customers are complaining about slow performance. The Albany, New York, location’s network appears to have suffered a catastrophic failure. This failure has caused outages for thousands of customers in the upstate New York region. Three executive users at Joseph’s corporate headquarters in Baltimore cannot pickup their e-mail and they are calling every five minutes to ask when the problem will be fixed. A networked printer that provides services to the Accounting group at the Baltimore headquarters is not accepting any print jobs. The users have asked Joseph to troubleshoot the printer. They need to send out invoices to customers by noon. Half of the workstations in the Advertising Department seem to be infected with a virus, and Joseph is worried that these users will copy the virus to the network, thus risking widespread data damage. Open Question: advice on breaking a lease?

I moved to Albany NY in August to go to school, and I rented an apartment off campus. I spend at least every other weekend home (my hometown is an hour away) I'm starting to think it would be better to move home, keep money and be a bit happier. My lease says nothing about terminating early or breaking the lease. Should I just call my landlord and look if he would start looking for a new tenant, with me paying rent until he does?

Open Question: Question About College & Firefighting Career ?

i am definitely going to a four year college in new york because i live their and i was going to become an accountant but then i realized that i don't know if i can sit behind a desk my entire life so i turned to becoming a firefighter because your day will never be the same and i know a couple firefighters and they say that they actually look forward to going to work each day and their benefits are great. i would like to ask a couple of questions about doing this. 1. where do i receive an application to become a firefighter? 2. what should i major in college to help my chances of becoming a firefighter quicker? the colleges i applied for ( SUNY at buffalo, binghamton, albany, CUNY at college of staten island, baruch, brooklyn, and ST. john's university) none have a major in flame science i don't know if that's mandatory. 3. how difficult is the civil service exam i heard it mainly reading and math ? what nice of questions are on it ? 4. how do i register for the civil service exam and every the classes i need to take or does the application do that for me ? 5.i am 5'10" about 160 lbs. bout 8-10% body fat and the last time i checked (about 2 months ago) i could bench about 150 lbs about 10 times maybe 10-15 lbs. do you think i will have any problem with the physical test ? some people say its difficult some people say its easy. 6. what could i do to prepare my self for the civil service test? 7. what are some exercises i could do make the physical test a little easy for me? i am 17 and in my final year of high school and have a 92 average if that means anything if there is any important information i might need it would be greatly appreciated THANKS

I've been having some trouble in my German class and was wondering if this was correct? could anyone help me please? Wenn sehr heiβ und sonnig war, sind wire zum Strand gegangen, um im Meer zu Schimmen und mich zu sonnen. Ich habe versucht, surfen zu lernen, aber es war noch nicht so gut. Ich denke, wir erden in einer Groβstadt leben, wo man viel machen kann. Ich bin gut einkaufen gegangen und dann haben wir im Restaurant zu finden, wo ich einige Rindfleisch mit Gemüse und Orangensaft gegessen habe. Morgens haben wir um acht Uhr gefrühstuckt. Mein Vater, meine Schester, meinen Bruder und ich haben ein Museum besichtigt, war ziemlich langweilig war aber sehr pädagogisch. Es Iohnt sich, zum Museum zu besichtiged, weil das Museum ganz interessant ist. Am Zweiten Tag bin ich ins Freibad gegangen. Weil Jeder Tag meistens warm und sonnig war, sind wir viel geschommen. Ich habe auch gefaulenzt und ein Buch gelesen. Das würde ich sehr gut finden. Es gab so viel zu tun! Es war wirklich fantastic. Meiner meinung nach war das Wetter perfekt! Dieser Urlaub cap nur sehr gut gefallen. Ich möchte nächsten Juli nach Amerika fliegen. Albany ist die Hauptstadt von New York. New york ist ein Bundesland. Ich werde zum ‚Statue of Liberty’, weil der ‚Statue of Liberty’ das herz von New York ist. Ich will viele Fotos machen! Hoffentlich sehen wir viele hübsches Sehenwürdigkeiten und das Wetter ist wunderschön. Thank you soo much xx

I have a 79 GPA, and I got a 760 critical reading, 600 math (not my strong suit) and 660 writing. I also got a 670 on Literature, and 680 on US History Subject Tests. I have a ton of extra-curriculars, have volunteered at a hospital and a research library and at countless benefits and fundraisers, and I wrote (in my opinion) an amazing admissions essay. I was incredibly lazy during high school (no excuses available for that one), but I easily could have been Valedictorian if I tried. Anyway, what are my chances of getting into UAlbany? I'm a New York State Resident, as well, and my preferred major is Political Science or Public Policy. I guess an unweighted GPA would be... 2.4? I meant 79 out of 100.

From 9th-12th grade i have taken every honors classes. In 10th grade i took one AP class and the relax were honors, in 11th grade i took three AP classes and the relax were honors, and right now in 12th grade i am taking three AP classes, and the relax are honors. I played one sport my sophmore year, and one sport my junior year. I am planning on playing three sports this year. I am in atleast eight clubs at my school, and i help out at the library here and there, but i dont have any volunteer hours. I've helped out at my school too, during the holidays and what not. My dad and I are staying with his mom in PG County, Maryland, because my mom met a psychotic lady from Albany, NY online and decided she wanted to abandon our home in Maryland and move with the lady to Albany, which is also where my brother and sister are, and where I was until I had to return to Maryland because I was in college. But I found a mobile home in St. Mary's county for only $14,900 and when my dad and I talked to the lady she agreed that we could pay half of the down payment, or $1,067.50 at the end of Oct. and the other half at the end of Nov. and then move in and start paying $580/month for the lot fee plus rent. But while we have been staying at his mom's home, I have been sleeping on a sofa downstairs while my dad sleeps in a bedroom downstairs and my grandma sleeps upstairs. And oftentimes my dad has made sexual moves towards me, and I began noticing that holes were appearing in the crotch of every the pants I was wearing...then I woke up one night and found my dad sitting there with a pair of scissors and a hole in my pants! At first he denied doing anything, but then he apologized and said he would not do it again. But he STILL kept doing it again until every my pants that I snooze in had holes in them! Mind you I am 22 and just graduated college, yet still can't steer because they make EVERYONE in Maryland regardless of age take driver's ed, and I have never been able to afford to take it. I also can't find a job, and my dad is also unemployed but just gets $821/month from retirement. My mom's dad does live in PG County and he is always nice and tries to help me and wants me to stay with him, but I guess for me it is difficult to be there because my mom's mom, with whom I was very close, recently died and I am just reminded of her. And it is just wierd being a 22 year old living with your grandpa and you can't steer, like you are a child. If you know what I mean. But St. Mary's county is really far from PG County, so if my dad were to start doing that wierd sexual stuff again after we move into this mobile home, I would probably not even be able to receive back to PG County to stay with family here. On top of that, I am constantly haunted at night by what my dad has done, and even when he is just talking about normal stuff like what's on TV, if he talks in a particular tone, like if it sounds sexual, I am paranoid and think he might do something, and if I tell him he just gets mad and says he won't do anything else and I need to just receive over it. I REALLY want to receive into this mobile home because things are ABSOLUTELY crazy at my grandma's home with my cousin and her kids every there driving my dad and I crazy and everything, but at the same time I am worried that my dad will do something else like sexual stuff once we are in the mobile home, and I will still be paranoid when he talks in a certain way. What should I do? also, I have not called my mom's dad since July because I can never receive a chance to use the phone without my grandma complaining or the kids running around hitting me and making noise. And now I am afraid to call him because I think he will be mad, and my dad gets mad when I call him and refuses to take me to look him because he says I will say bad stuff about him. READ THIS PART: okay, people have just told me that I should not move with my dad, but my dad already said he does not want to move but would instead continue to live with his mom if I am not going to be there when we receive into the mobile home. The fact is we both just want to receive out of his mom's home because things are just CRAZY there, but I can't receive out on my possess because I can't steer and can't find a job. So basically it's either receive into the mobile home with my dad, stay with my mom's dad which will also probably be difficult since I will feel lonely not having any very close family around, or continue living with my dad's mom.

Resolved Question: Freaking Out About Moving Out?

I'm transferring to SUNY Albany in the Spring which is about 2 hours north of where I live now. I am moving in with my boyfriend of over three years who is also transferring to SUNY. I've lived in the same home my whole life. I have a great relationship with my family and I don't really like change. I have anxiety problems. So basically, I am freaking out about moving out of the home I've lived in my whole life and probably never moving back. Voting Question: What are the costs of owning a small motorized boat?

I don't know much about boats! What does it cost to insure (do you HAVE to have insurance?), maintain, and dock/store a tiny boat? Open Question: UB pharmacy = SUNY buffalo?

Is the UB, known for pharmacy, also called SUNY buffalo? I'm just a bit confused with the names right now since i'm also applying for albany pharmacy while also knowing there's a separate SUNY albany. So i'd like to know if UB is also SUNY buff. this is the link to UB http://wings.buffalo.edu/academic/department/pharmacy/ If so, i can just simply submit my common application for it right? I've heard that i have to specifically apply for pharmacy there, but there's no such choice on the common app.

Voting Question: Is there a better website than "Spark Notes" to help find Shakespeare quotes for my King Lear essay?

I'm writing an essay on William Shakespeare's play King Lear. My thesis//topic, is that Edmund is the most interesting villain. The points that I need help finding quotes for are: 1. Edmund is manipulative when he gains the trust of Albany and Goneril, then stabs them in the back. 2. Edmund manipulates Cornwall and Regan, so the decision is made that Gloucester shall be punished (ie. Regan orders for his eyes to be plucked) 3. Edmund is so power-hungry that he orders the execution for both King Lear and his youngest daughter Cordelia, so that he may be the sole ruler of Britain.
